Melton Harness Racing

This article is written to provide Tips for Melton Racecourse. Tabcorp Park in Melton is the first new racecourse to open ever since the debut of Beckley Park in Geelong in 1978. Tabcorp Park Melton Race Track hosted 55 race meetings during its first year and is expected to hold more in the following years. Melton Racecourse  just hosted a number of big racing events last September 17th in the 2010 Tabcorp Park Melton Trotters Handicap. The horses are expected to race over a distance of 2,760 meters. Harness racing enthusiasts crowded the racetrack to attempt to get the $15,000 purse.

Melton Tabcorp Park Race Track was considered a state-of-the-art-harness racing venue by the officials that founded the said racecourse. It was greatly applauded for the project was able to generate jobs for the people, as well as a great form of tourism, which in turn created huge amounts of profit for the vicinity. It was reported that the Victorian Government allotted more than $450,000 for the completion of the project through the Racing Industry Development Program. According to its founders, the Melton Tabcorp Park Race Track will not only function as a state-of-the-art track, it can also serve as a social center where you can hold different kinds of functions and special events. It also features a sports bar, a gaming area, a 41-room four-star hotel, bistro, and viewing bays in horse stalls building that will allow the public to have a safe close to the action view of the race.

Visitors will definitely enjoy the modern entertainment and leisure facilities that Melton Tabcorp Park Race Track has to offer. As much as 5,500 spectators can occupy the place and take advantage of the excitement the racetrack brings, with special viewing bays to get close to the action!

Melton, according to the developers of the racetrack, is the most ideal place for Tabcorp Park since it’s one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria. In addition to this, Melton also has the highest concentration of harness racing horses and trainers in the state of Victoria. Melton’s Tabcorp Park sure is going to be an iconic venue for the state and will serve as a great asset not only when it comes to harness racing but also for the place and its surrounding communities.

The first race ever held at the new Racecourse in Melton was on a Sunday, July 5th.

Lady Belladonna marked her place in harness history for winning Vic bred Super Series semi final.

Daughter of Pacific Fella became first horse to win a TAB race at Melton Tabcorp Park.

Lady Belladonna took her record to a total of 5 wins from six when she broke 30 seconds for every quarter.
